Gavalas Winery is one of the oldest wineries on Santorini, situated in the traditional village of Megalochori.
Since the end of the 19th century, the Gavalas family has been exclusively engaged in winemaking using the indigenous varieties of the island — a commitment spanning over 120 years of uninterrupted Santorini wine culture. Today the estate covers two hectares within the PDO Santorini zone, cultivating Assyrtiko, Athiri, and Aidani alongside rare local varieties: Katsano, Gaidouria, Mavrotragano, and Voudomato — found nowhere else in the world.
