“Perivoli sti Vari” (The Orchard in Vari) is a farm-to-fork restaurant on the outskirts of Athens, Attica. Situated in the middle of a small urban farm, it gives city dwellers the opportunity to have daily contact with nature and enjoy healthy food prepared from the field.
Seasonal vegetables — certified organic by TUV Austria — are grown using regenerative practices (permaculture) and harvested daily. The chef uses them alongside produce from small local producers to create healthy seasonal meals.
Chickens provide eggs for breakfasts, and every winter the olives are cold-pressed into extra virgin olive oil. The farm tour is a picturesque stroll discussing the venue’s cultivation practices based on permaculture (regenerative agriculture). Visitors see unique features such as the ‘chicken tractor,’ worm farm, and biodiversity pond, and experience firsthand how food is grown in harmony with nature.
Entrance is only permitted for children aged 11 and above, who will be charged the adult price.
