Alpha Estate S.A. was founded in 1997 by viticulturist Makis Mavridis and chemist-oenologist Angelos Iatridis — two professionals who chose the area of Amyndaeo in Florina, Macedonia, as the perfect location for their winery.
The estate lies next to its privately owned vineyard, ensuring harvested grapes reach the winery in the shortest possible time — with refrigeration and transport scheduled during the coolest hours of the day, reflecting an uncompromising respect for the organoleptic qualities of each variety.
Alpha Estate is today one of the most internationally recognised Greek wineries, celebrated for its Xinomavro and its pioneering approach to the Amyndaeo wine region of northern Greece.
