“Perivoli sti Vari” (The Orchard in Vari) is a farm-to-fork restaurant on the outskirts of Athens, in Attica.
Situated in the middle of a small urban farm, it gives city dwellers daily contact with nature and healthy food prepared from the field.
Our seasonal vegetables (certified organic by TUV Austria) are grown using regenerative practices (permaculture) and harvested daily.
Our chef uses them together with the produce of small local producers to create delightful, healthy meals in season.
Our chickens provide eggs for wonderful breakfasts, and every winter our olives are pressed to yield extra virgin, cold-pressed olive oil.
Apiary Tour and Honey Tasting
- Curated Honey Tasting: Taste a carefully curated selection of exceptional Greek honeys — thyme, pine, heather, wildflower, and rare mono-floral varieties — guided by honey experts
- Honey Education: Learn to evaluate honey through colour, aroma, texture, and flavour — discovering how different botanical sources and regions create dramatically different honey characters
- Food Pairing: Discover how Greek honeys pair with different foods — cheeses, breads, nuts, and seasonal farm produce from the Orchard’s own garden
Our honey program focuses on fostering appreciation for bees’ importance in our ecosystem. After touring the vegetable plots and orchard and discussing bee-friendly gardening practices, participants learn about different honey varieties, the value of raw, unprocessed honey, and taste three aromatic bouquets of locally produced honey batches.
We suggest concluding the experience with an à la carte meal at our farm-to-table restaurant, where you can savour the abundance of our harvest from the surrounding plots (meal not included in the price of the activity — please calculate an extra hour). Explore more Attica experiences.
