Astakomakaronada

Close-up of plate with Greek astakomakaronada means cooked spaghetti and lobster in tomato sauce

Αstakomakaronada is a dish with main ingredients spaghetti and lobster. The origin of the recipe is probably Italian, from Sicily and Sardinia.

The lobster is boiled separately from the sauce and is then served with spaghetti in tomato sauce. The water from the boiling of the lobster may be used to boil the spaghetti. In the 1990s, astakomakaronada was the trademark of the rising class of nouveau riche.
