Antonopoulos Farm is located in Thessaly, close to Farsala, on the slopes of Mt. Narthakio, in Dilofos, Ancient Fthia — a spot of great natural beauty.
The estate covers hundreds of acres of hilly terrain at 380 to 630 meters altitude, cultivating cereals, legumes, vines, tomatoes, and other produce, with its own facility for processing, packaging, and storage.
Antonopoulos Farm has been engaged in organic farming since 1985 and is the first company in Greece to be certified organic, holding certification serial number 1. The farm uses exclusively traditional native and ancient varieties passed down through generations.
The farm has revived local seeds at risk of extinction, restoring crops that had disappeared from Greece — buckwheat, linseed, millet, sorghum, and others. Age-old farming practices are combined with modern technology for sanitary processing and packaging.
This approach has created farm produce meeting high-quality standards, with unique nutritional value — led by “zea” and “ptisani” (peeled barley suitable for gluten-intolerant consumers) as well as the distinctive “tutankhamun” products.
Treatment with ptisani for acute diseases was widespread even before Hippocrates, with two traditional decoctions: one with “whole ptisani” containing all seeds, and another drained for digestibility.
Visitors to the estate enjoy a guided tour of the fields, learning about cultivation methods, the philosophy of local seeds, and the power of archetypal nutrition — followed by a tour of the processing facilities to see each production stage. Finally, guests can taste and purchase fresh farm produce such as wafers, grape juice, paximadi, flakes, and flaxseed.
