Douloufakis Winery

douloufakis winery 1.jpg

Douloufakis Winery is located in Dafnes, Heraklion, Crete — one of the island’s most celebrated wine villages. The family’s history in wine production stretches back to 1930, when grandfather Dimitris Douloufakis began producing wines professionally in the traditional way.

Today, the estate is continued by Nikolas Douloufakis — Dimitris’s grandson — who studied oenology in Italy before returning to highlight the quality of Cretan wines. The winery produces indigenous Cretan varieties — Liatiko and Vidiano at their finest, including barrel-fermented and amphora-fermented expressions recalling ancient winemaking traditions — alongside international varieties.
