Grandfather Michael Kosmidis ran a renowned pastry shop in Istanbul/Constantinople before fleeing to Piraeus after the Asia Minor catastrophe of 1922. There he opened a small bakery and continued producing delectable pastries and desserts from his homeland.
He specialized in traditional confectionery varieties — Macedonian halva, loukoumi, tulumba, kourabie, and melomakarona — sold primarily in the neighborhoods around the Piraeus port in Attica. His son Evmorfios inherited the craft and expanded the brand across Greece, maintaining the secrecy of the family recipes.
In 2002, the third generation took over the bakery in the west suburbs of Athens, broadening the range while honoring century-old Constantinople recipes.
