The Mitato Mushrooms Farm is located in the village of Sounio, in the Prefecture of Xanthi, Thrace. The site was selected based on strict environmental and microclimate criteria, with stringent sanitary conditions to reduce contamination risk during production and packaging of Pleurotus mushrooms.
The organic chaff of hard-grained wheat serves as the substrate for the Pleurotus mushroom, specially processed and kept under high hygiene standards — with on-site sampling tests and physicochemical analyses in accredited laboratories — while being enriched in nutritional value in an eco-friendly way.
The tour includes a company presentation, a visit to the plant, the environmental management of the mushroom substrate residue, and a guided walk through the packing facilities in Xanthi. A tasting session follows, and visitors can make purchases from the company’s retail store.
