Orealios Gaea

The vine-growers of the Robola zone of Ionian Islands Kefalonia, seeking to protect their livelihood and highlight the island’s vineyard, founded the Robola Producers’ Cooperative in 1982. In 1987 the Cooperative built its own winery beneath the slopes of Mount Ainos, next to the Holy Monastery of St. Gerasimos, at the heart of the Robola PDO zone.

Robola — one of Greece’s most noble white varieties — is cultivated exclusively in this mountainous viticultural zone surrounding the valley of Omala. Other indigenous varieties in the area include Tsaousi, Vostilidi, Moschato, and Mavrodafni across a total of approximately 120 hectares, with most vines self-rooted.
