Discover an authentic winery tour and wine tasting experience in Heraklion, Crete, at Strataridakis Winery — the southernmost winery in Europe.
Located at the foothills of the Asterousia Mountains, near the village of Kastelliana, the winery is deeply rooted in history. The Strataridakis family has been cultivating this land since 1955, on vineyards that once belonged to the Sinai Monastery of the Holy Apostles, continuing a long-standing viticultural tradition.
Guided by a philosophy of respect for tradition and the environment, the winery invites visitors to explore the full journey of wine — from vineyard to bottle.
Strataridakis Winery Tour & Wine Tasting
During this 60–75 minute experience, you will walk through the estate vineyards and learn about local grape varieties and cultivation methods shaped by Crete’s unique terroir. You will then discover the stages of the winemaking process and the craftsmanship behind each bottle.
The experience concludes with a guided wine tasting of estate-grown wines, perfectly paired with local Cretan products. More than just a tour, this is an invitation to share in the history, culture, and authentic flavors of Crete — a true “seat at the table” of the Strataridakis family.
