Venetsanos Wine Museum

1 venetsanos winery.jpg

Venetsanos Winery is located just above the Santorini port of Athinios in the Aegean Islands, with a splendid view towards the iconic caldera. Built by the Venetsanos family in 1947, it was the first industrialised winery on Santorini — and today operates as a wine museum celebrating that pioneering heritage.

Its most characteristic feature is a gravity-flow structural design conceived when electricity was scarce, using the natural slope of the caldera to move wine through production without pumps. Over the years, the family expanded from island sales to international export, particularly to Russia.
