Macedonian Thrace Brewery was founded in 1996 in the Industrial Area of Komotini, Thrace, born from the passion of founder Demetri Politopoulos — a citizen of the world who invested all his knowledge, creativity, and passion into building Greece its own distinct beer identity. The brewery, located 10 km east of Komotini, has grown into one of the most modern brewing facilities in the world, with its state-of-the-art Malting Plant completed in phases in 2014 and 2017.
The guiding principle — “when something is born, it starts out small and grows with love” — remains central to Vergina Beer, with profits continuously reinvested into the finest brewing and quality standards.
