Melas-Epidavros Olive Oil Domain was founded in 1994 by Evangelos Melas — son of a third-generation olive oil producer — in Lygourio, near Epidavros in the Argolida prefecture of the Peloponnese. An organic farmer with deep knowledge and extensive experience, Melas built the estate on a philosophy of uncompromising quality and international market focus from day one.
Among the company’s first products was the extra virgin olive oil of the Manaki variety, a PDO “Ligourio Asklepios” product recognised by the EU in 1996 and celebrated internationally for its unique quality and flavour. Growing international demand led to expansion of the facilities by 2008.
