Our apiary lies on a hill southwest of Kranidi, overlooking the beautiful bay of Kilada in the Peloponnese. The Bairaktaris family has followed the tradition of apiculture since 1914 — we are the fourth generation of apiarists. In 2007 we established the first honey and herb packaging company in Argolis, launching our “Ermionis” brand in 2008. The farm is certified organic, and our honey is assessed for purity and freshness by an accredited body every year.
Museum Visit and Guided Tasting
- Apiary Tour: Visit the hives above Kilada Bay, commune with nature among beehives, fragrant herbs, olive, carob, and pomegranate trees, and learn about the family’s beekeeping tradition near Kranidi
- Honey & Bee Museum: Explore the museum housed in a restored stone-and-reed building designed by Kosmas Bairaktaris, featuring glass beehives offering a close-up view of these remarkable creatures
- Honey Tasting: Taste four honey varieties — thyme honey, honey of aromatic plants and thyme, heather honey, and carob honey — served with freshly kneaded bread and estate-grown herb tea
Your visit also continues at the Olive Oil Museum, which features an old olive mill dating back to 1700, showcasing centuries of olive oil production from Kranidi — a region celebrated since antiquity for its exceptional olive oil. Should you visit during harvest season, you may witness honey harvesting and taste fresh honeycomb straight from the hive.
