In 2005, Christos Bairaktaris founded Domaine Bairaktaris in Nemea, Peloponnese — a family winery built on a multigenerational tradition of vine-growing, using grapes from its own vineyards rooted in the PDO Nemea zone. The plain of Nemea’s fertile clay soil and microclimate produce the ideal conditions for Agiorgitiko, Greece’s most celebrated red variety from this region, known for its dynamic character and ageing potential.
The winery follows natural cultivation methods for both white and red varieties, without additives, so that wines express the authentic character of the Nemea terroir with richer grape aromas and longer shelf life. The modern facilities include a tasting room accommodating up to 50 people, a wine cellar maintained at stable temperature and humidity for oak barrel, amphorae, and bottle ageing, and a retail shop.
