Idaia Winery is a family business established by oenologists Vasilis Laderos and Kalliopi Volitakis — united by passion for wine and the land of Crete. The winery is located in the heart of the Heraklion Prefecture’s Malevizi province, within the PDO Daphnes viticultural zone, 25 km south of Heraklion.
The owners’ vision is to bring out the personality of Cretan varieties — giving each wine an identity rooted in both PGI Crete and the Daphnes PDO. The winery’s name honours the original ancient name of Crete itself, recalling Zeus and the mythological tradition of the island.
