The Gofas family has been cultivating its own vineyards across generations in the Peloponnese, though it was not until 1959 that the family began producing wine — initially from their privately-owned vineyard in the Koutsi and Daphne region of Nemea, using hand-driven equipment. In 2011, the premises relocated to a modern winery at Koutsi, next to the mythical Asopos river.
The philosophy has always been straightforward: since only high-quality grapes can lead to high-quality wine, Gofas uses exclusively grapes from its own 10-hectare vineyard, growing Agiorgitiko, Malagousia, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Kydonitsa, applying total quality control from vine to bottle.
