In the Plomari province of Lesbos, Aegean Islands, the Protoulis family has been cultivating olives since the late 19th century — when George Protoulis, born around 1880 from Asia Minor roots, first planted his trees. Over a century later, this family continues to produce olive oil of extraordinary character.
His son, Giannis, expanded the business by acquiring another 12,5 acres and establishing the first olive mill in Megalohori village in 1975. Kostas built a second olive mill in Trygonas in 2005 and expanded their olive groves to nearly 125 acres.
