The Oenogenesis Winery is situated amidst the Doxato vineyards, close to Drama, Macedonia. Visitors are impressed by the imposing Macedonian architecture — the building with its fortress structure and colors strongly resembles the monasteries of Athos or large Macedonian mansions — set around a spacious patio perfect for tasting wines al fresco.
The underground area houses the wine cellar and racks of bottles being aged. On the ground floor, separate areas serve winemaking, bottling, and storage, while the upper floor offers a beautiful view of the vineyards and hosts wine tastings and social events. The privately-owned vineyards of the estate span more than 30 hectares across Drama and Kavala, cultivated according to organic farming standards.
The varieties grown include the Greek Assyrtiko, Malagousia, Xinomavro, and Muscat of Alexandria alongside Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Ugni Blanc, Viognier, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. During the grape harvest, visitors may join the team to pick and select grapes to produce high-quality wines.
